What Gets in the Way of Your Pleasure? Top 3 Blocks to Bliss!

One of my absolute favorite things to teach people about are the over 11 different kinds of female orgasm.

I love sharing this information not so that we as women can feel inadequate or broken in anyway if we are not experiencing all of these flavors of bliss, nor am I attempting to set a new orgasmic “goal post” for all of us to achieve.

I love sharing this information because it is only by understanding the fullness of our potential in life that we are able to allow ourselves to begin accessing and experiencing that potential.

Some of the best technology coming out of the personal growth and development scene are techniques that help us create the life we want to live, by imagining what it would be like, or will be like to have those desired experiences in our life.

In order to have an experience we must know that it is possible, and this is why I love sharing the over 11 kinds of female orgasm.

I share in order to open the door of possibility and to wake us all up from our sexual slumber and catalyze each of us to claim a greater level of sexual fulfillment.

But why is awakening our full orgasmic potential so important?

In my book “Shake Your Soul Song! A Woman’s Guide to Self-Empowerment Through The Art of Self Pleasure”, I share a quote from author Naomi Wolf which outlines how sexual empowerment relates to a woman’s fulfillment in life.

She says- “Few of us know that when a woman has an orgasm– and, even before that, when she feels empowered to think about pleasurable sex, anticipate it, focus on how to get it, and feels in control of and knowledgeable enough about her body to know she can probably reach orgasm during sex – her brain gets a boost of the neurotransmitter dopamine.” She goes on to say- “This experience does not just yield pleasure, a fact that is well known; it also yields specific states of mind.”

Dopamine is the neurotransmitter associated with reward, confidence, desire, motivation, sleep, mood, cognitive ability, attention, and focus. Healthy Dopamine levels help us feel more confident, creative, motivated, and inspired to do our work in the world.

There are a whole host of other hormones and neurotransmitters released in the body through sexual pleasure and orgasm. These chemicals affect not just our physical body, but our thought processes, mood and emotions as well.

It is vital to our mental, emotional, and physical health that we feel confident in our ability to HAVE the sexual pleasure that we desire, and that we are in fact entitled to have.

Furthermore, when different areas of the vagina are stimulated internally, different areas of the brain light up, and we are able to access different states of emotion and consciousness.

Tantra has taught for several thousand years that sexual pleasure can be a gateway to transcendent states of consciousness, and modern, Western science now clarifies for us the physiology behind why this is true.

Being able to access the over 11 different kinds of female orgasm is every woman’s birthright, and in my opinion, a major component of having a healthy, enriching, satisfying experience of life.

And yet- according to statistics, the majority of women on this planet do not even know what their orgasmic potential is, much less have the tools and knowledge to begin actively cultivating that potential.

Knowing what our orgasmic potential is is the first step in this reclamation process, but we also need to understand what gets in the way of us experiencing this pleasure easily and naturally.

Over the last 9 years I have observed that there are three primary “Blocks to Bliss” which prevent women from experiencing their full orgasmic potential.

Once we understand what these blocks are, we can easily take action to antidote or remedy them, so we can regain access to our body’s inherent ability to experience these nourishing states of sexual bliss.
